The Dave Campbell’s Texas Football San Antonio Inspirational Coach of the Week Award will honor eleven (11) head football coaches in the greater San Antonio area spotlighting their inspirational leadership during the Texas high school football season. Each winner will receive a commemorative football and $250 donation back to their program compliments of Great Clips.

At the end of the season, all 11 coaches will be in the running for the San Antonio Inspirational Coach of the Year Award.

Voting will open up in November and it will be up to each community to rally the vote to help lift their coach to the top. The coach who gathers the most end of the year votes will receive free haircuts for a year compliments of Great Clips!

Week 1 – Nate Shaw, San Antonio Churchill

Making his head coaching debut, Shaw guided the Chargers to a season-opening 42-7 win over San Antonio Stevens.

Week 2 – Phil Barron, South San Antonio

Barron has the Bobcats sitting at a surprising 2-0 after a 21-14 win over San Antonio Harlandale.

Week 3 – Robert Bruce, Southwest Legacy HS

Bruce has the Titans at 3-0 — and 1-0 in district play — after a resounding 41-6 win over Eagle Pass Winn.

Week 4 – Gary Gutierrez, San Antonio John Jay

Gutierrez’s Mustangs are 4-0 after a gutty 9-3 win over district rival San Antonio Southwest Legacy.

Week 5 – Nick Rogers, San Antonio Pieper

Rogers led the Warriors to their biggest regular season win in their young program history, knocking off Comal ISD standard-bearer Smithson Valley.

Week 6 – Jeremy Williams, San Antonio Sam Houston

Williams led his Hurricanes to a gutty fourth-quarter come-from-behind win over San Antonio Edison to move to 2-0 in District 12-5A DI play.

Week 7 – Alejandro Franco, San Antonio Southwest

Franco has the Dragons at 6-0 — and 4-0 in district play — after a resounding 32-9 road win over South San Antonio.

Week 8 – JD Zimmerhanzel, San Antonio Davenport

The Wolves improved to 7-1 on the year — and, more importantly, 4-0 in District 14-4A DI play — with a resounding 55-14 win over Somerset.

Week 9 – Lyndon Hamilton, San Antonio Reagan

The Rattlers earned a critical District 27-6A win over San Antonio Churchill, 28-21.

Week 10 – Ron Rittimann, San Antonio Alamo Heights

The Mules finished the regular season undefeated for the third time in four seasons with a 39-7 road win over Kerrville Tivy.

Week 11 – Ricky Stade, San Antonio Taft

Facing a win-or-go home Week 11 matchup with San Antonio O’Connor, Stade led his Greyhounds to a 44-10 victory and a spot in the postseason.
