THE MOST UNDERRATED TXHSFB PROGRAMS OF 2025

___

San Antonio Brennan

The most underrated team in the Alamo City. While others have had deep playoff runs and state titles, no one year in and year out is as consistent as the Bears. Stephen Basore's squad has five straight seasons of 10 wins or more and they advanced to the regional final in 6A-Division I in 2021 and 2022.

Frisco Reedy

In fast-growing Frisco ISD where attendance zones change faster than we can keep up with, Chad Cole has built the Lions into a model of consistency. After breaking out in 2018 with a 13-1 season, Reedy's maintained its status as one the top teams in DFW with three straight 10-win seasons.

Seminole

If not for two agonizing playoff losses in 2022 and 2024 by a total of three points, Seminole might not qualify as an underrated program. Greg Poynor's team has a strong case of being the top 4A-D2 program in West Texas with three straight seasons of double digit wins.

Jefferson

The Bulldogs arrow is pointing up after a breakout season under first year head coach Ty Taylor in which they went 12-1. Before that, Jefferson was known as a good team that just had bad luck in the playoffs. But this is a team we need to talk about in 2025.

Beckville

If not for a guy named Terry Bussey, we might be thinking differently of this team that has won 10 or more games in five straight seasons. Between 2020-2023, Beckville lost eight games and four were to Timpson. Even after the graduation of J'Koby Williams in 2024, the Bearcats still managed to post a strong 10-2 season this fall.
