This Week in 'Crootin!

Diving into the latest Texas high school football recruiting news with three weekly superlatives: Prospect on the Rise, Commit of the Week, and Underclassman of the Week.

Don't miss our discussion on Texas Football Today, where I break down this notebook in more depth with Greg Tepper and Ashley Pickle.

Prospect on the Rise - Haslet Eaton 2026 EDGE Alijah Lash

The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder is DCTF's newest three-star prospect and has offers from programs like Houston, North Texas, Texas Tech, UTSA, Coastal Carolina and UNLV. Lash was among the best pure pass rushers at the Under Armour Next Camp in Dallas.

Commit of the Week - Lewisville 2026 DT Xavier Fleming

The 6-foot-0, 280-pounder committed to Houston over offers from North Texas, UTEP, UTSA, Oregon State and more. On Sunday, the DCTF three-star was one of the eye-catchers at the UA Camp in Dallas.

Underclassman of the Week - Euless Trinity 2027 DB John Meredith III

The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder was invited to the Under Armour Next All-America Game following a strong performance at the UA Camp. Meredith has also been one of the hottest prospects on the recruiting trail, with offers from Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon and more.

Denton Guyer 2027 DE Zane Rowe and Argyle Liberty Christian 2027 Athlete Cooper Witten also earned an invitation to the UA Game.
