There's no shortage of top-tier athletes out there in Texarkana. The Texas High Tigers are 54-8 the past five seasons, and that's a testament to, not only the ball-knower that is Coach Gerry Stanford, but also the talented prospects they've been able to showcase.
Here's an inside look at some of the top prospects at Texas High.
2026 RB Tradarian Ball (5-10, 185): No introduction needed in the recruiting space for this four star. Ranked as the top running back in the class of 2026 and third overall prospect in the state of Texas, his versatility is what makes him stand out. Not only did he put up big numbers as running back during the 2024 season with 68 carries, 777 yards, and 14 touchdowns, but also made some noise as a pass catcher totaling 44 catches, 1,017 yards, and 11 touchdowns. When talking with Texas High head coach Gerry Stanford, he said Ball's favorite hobby, outside of playing football, is watching film at all times. Ball verbally committed to play for the Oregon Ducks back in July.
2026 DT Duncan McGhee (6-5, 295): McGhee's versatilty on the defensive front is one of his biggest strengths. Projecting him as an interior defensive lineman, but he could also slide outside because he's quick off the ball. His ceiling is super high, especially when it comes to his frame size. When talking with Coach Stanford, he said he discovered McGhee in an untraditional way, "We found him on the tennis court in seventh grade", Standford said. "I was walking to class, and I look over and see this gigantic kid. I walked up to him and asked if he played football." McGhee said "No, my dad won't let me", and I said "give me his number"", Stanford said. McGhee verbally committed to play for the TCU Horned Frogs back in January of this year.
2026 OL Damien Chisum (6-3, 275): Chisum can play every position on the offensive front, with quite a few offers to show for his athleticism and flexibilty. Baylor, Houston, and SMU are just a few of the programs that have shown interest in the junior so far.
2027 OT Donquavieus Ford (6-5, 285): The ceiling is so high for this sophomore when it comes to his flexibility on the offensive line and his frame size. He's a top 50 player in the class of 2027, and the offers that keep rolling in are a testament to that. He currently holds nine total offers, from programs like SMU, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and more.
Other names to know:
2029 DL Javon Moore: He's currently an eighth grader but has already shown a high football IQ.
2027 DL Aaron Kelley: He came up as a sophomore and played quite a bit as a freshman.
