Livingston ISD on Tuesday night named Whitehouse offensive coordinator Tucker Carter as the next athletic director/head football coach at Livingston High School.
Carter has spent the past four seasons at Whitehouse as the offensive coordinator under head Kyle Westerberg, who is the son of former Allen head coach Tom Westerberg, who Carter played his high school ball for at Allen. Carter led Allen High School to their first state championship in 2008.
After finishing up at Allen Carter played his college ball first at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens and then playing under Larry Coker at UTSA.
After working for the Performance Course for four summers, Carter got his start in coaching at Bonham High School where he served as the offensive coordinator for three seasons before moving to Whitehouse for the 2021 season.
“Going through the process it felt like Livingston was a place that needed some energy and enthusiasm and that felt like a good fit for me,” said Carter. “Livingston is one-horse town with good looking athletes, I am confident we can be competitive in multiple sports and there is a lot of community support.”
Carter, who plans on starting at Livingston High on Monday said during the process he had no doubts about the fit “Getting to know the administration it was clear to me they were super genuine, they wanted someone to come in and do right by kids. I never once got the idea there were any agendas, they wanted what was best for community and the students and I really got a great feeling that this was a tremendous fit,” said Carter.
