Legends are made in the Texas High School Football Playoffs. Texas Tech wide receiver Coy Eakin didn't have an offer until balling out in the state championship, and there are stories like his every year.
Here are Dave Campbell's Texas Football's picks for the 2025 All-Sleeper team that TXHSFB fans will soon wake up to.

QB Landon Kieselhorst (Deer Park HS)
Kieselhorst gets on his horse in the run game, eating up yards with his long strides. It's as if defenders are shocked mid-play how fast the 6-foot-6-inch quarterback is moving. He flashes elite arm strength and makes the backyard-style plays Patrick Mahomes used to display in high school. Most schools told Mahomes that wouldn't work at the next level, and we all see how that turned out. He's also an all-district pitcher.
Kieselhorst has one offer from UT Permian Basin.
RB Kelton Barney (Arlington Lamar)
Barney moved from Grand Prairie this summer and made the most of his one season in an Arlington Lamar uniform, rushing for 1,454 yards on just under 8 yards per carry with 12 touchdowns. Barney had three consecutive 200-yard rushing performances, hitting 21 miles per hour in multiple games. His speed erases angles that defensive backs should have on him.
The 6-foot, 185-pound back currently holds offers from FCS Lamar and Division II Minot State, but he has the size and skillset to play FBS ball.
RB Greg Ard (McKinney North)
This time last year, Ard had two carries for 7 yards his entire junior season. As a senior, Ard led Class 5A in rushing with 1,581 yards and 20 TDs in his first year as the starter. He's a playmaker in three aspects of the game (rushing, receiving and kick returning). Ard displays excellent patience as a running back, but can cut on a dime and go 0-100mph.
Ard currently holds no offers, but should be a late add for FBS programs.
WR Luke Watkins (Prosper Walnut Grove)
Watkins has every measurable you could look for in a Division I wide receiver - 6-foot-4, 4.5 40-yard dash and a 37-inch vertical. He's compiled 1,000 yards receiving and 16 touchdowns in Prosper Walnut Grove's 9-1 season, shocking a loaded District 4-5A DII with a championship in its first UIL season.
The secret's out on Watkins. UIW and SFA both offered in late October.
WR Maxwell Hendrick (Klein Cain)
Hendrick led all of Texas with 1,472 receiving yards and added 16 touchdowns for the District 15-6A champs. His film shows such variety in his route running and playmaking. There are jump ball wins, yards after the catch and even pancake blocks.
Hendrick has G5 offers from Tulsa, Navy and New Mexico State.
OG Jared Risinger (Austin Westlake)
You're going to need more syrup with all the pancakes Risinger is serving on his highlight tape. They don't call the 6-foot-3, 315-pounder "Big Bull" because he's a nice guy. Risinger is violent at the point of attack and looks for work until the whistle blows.
Risinger should be a late riser in the recruiting world during the TXHSFB playoffs.
Edge Nazheer Freeman (Richardson)
Freeman (6-3, 235) can play on the edge with his hand in the dirt or standing up, and even wreaks havoc as an interior DT, winning with speed. His highlight tape is chock-full of plays tackling opponents for 10-yard losses. People will look back at it one day and wonder how they missed this guy.
The senior has one FBS offer to San Diego State and also reports scholarships from SFA, Lamar and Florida A&M.
LB Agape Lawrence (Frisco Emerson)
Lawrence has been one of the top linebackers in the DFW for some time, a two-time First Team All-District selection who'll surely nab more postseason honors after this year. The senior has 116 tackles, 15 tackles for-loss and has even blocked three kicks. Some coaches will balk at the 5-11 frame, but Lawrence plays much bigger than he is.
He has two offers reported from East Central University and Northeastern State.
DB Xavier "X-Man" Wells (Lake Belton)
The 6-4, 175-pound wide receiver/defensive back is an athletic freakshow. He is raw as a cover corner but covers ground in a hurry and can outjump anyone lined up across from him. I see him transitioning to wide receiver full time in college, where he'll be a mismatch on the outside.
Wells has received seven total offers, but none from FBS schools. He could shoot up recruiting boards in the playoffs.
