North Crowley 2025 LB Jonathan Cunningham (6'2, 190) committed to Texas over TCU and Utah offers during a commitment ceremony at his high school on Friday night.

TCU has been hard to beat at times with prospects from North Crowley, but Cunningham reports that he chose Texas because of the development opportunities highlighted by Co-Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers  Coach Johnny Nansen and Head Coach  Steve Sarkisian, and the atmosphere and culture with a strong emphasis on both athletic and academic growth.

Cunningham, who checks in as the No. 94 prospect in the 2025 DCTF Rising Hot 100, fills a huge position of need in the Longhorns 2025 class. He presents a unique and versatile play style that should help him quickly find his footing once he arrives in Austin.

Scouting Report: Cunningham is a tall, agile linebacker who also has experience playing safety. His impressive frame has room to bulk up, but his swift, gliding style and straight-line speed in pursuit are what he is known for and what makes him a special defender. Because of his experience playing multiple positions, he should be a versatile scheme fit who can play various positions within Pete Kwiatkowski's defensive scheme, where his high-energy play style will be an asset.
