In a stunning Fourth of July bombshell announcement, with literal fireworks, Duncanville 2025 WR Dakorien Moore (5'11, 185) committed to Oregon over offers from Texas, Ohio State, and LSU.

"I've always wanted to be different," Moore said. "I've always wanted to carve my own path."

This was a significant recruiting win for Dan Lanning and Co. on the national scale, as Moore is considered the No. 1 player in Texas by Dave Campbell's Texas Football.

Here's everything Oregon fans need to know about their new five-star receiver from the Lone Star State.

Several factors influenced Moore's decision to commit to Oregon:

  • Early Relationships: Oregon was one of the first schools to offer and seriously recruit him at the highest level. It was also one of his first recruiting visits, so he formed an early bond with the campus and coaching staff.
  • Offensive Scheme: Oregon’s dynamic and high-powered offense under head coach Dan Lanning was a major draw for Moore. The Ducks’ ability to showcase wide receivers in their offensive scheme.
  • Ace in the Hole: It was a big deal in this recruitment, when Oregon hired RB Coach Ra'Shaad Samples on April 9. Samples is not only one of the best young recruiters in the game he is also the son of Moore's current head coach at Duncanville, Reginald Samples.

Iron Sharpens Iron

Playing in Texas' largest classification, 6A, Moore competes and excels in the 'District of Doom,' which featured the Class 6A Division I and Division II state champions in 2023.

Each and every week and every day in practice, Moore is battle-tested versus D1-level defensive backs.

Moore, who will be a four-year varsity starter, has doubled his yardage production year over year throughout his three-year prep career, leading Duncanville to back-to-back state titles.

In 2023, he caught 71 passes for 1,523 yards and 18 touchdowns Dave Campbell's Texas Football Preseason Whataburger Super Team, which honors the most elite players in Texas since 1960.

Dual-Sport Star - Elite Track Speed Highlights Moore's Profile

Moore's athletic prowess extends beyond football. As a junior, he posted impressive 100-meter times of 10.40 and 10.45 seconds, along with a season-best 21.70 seconds in the 200-meter dash. He finished fifth in the Texas 6A long jump finals with a leap of 23-75. Additionally, he anchored Duncanville's 6A state championship 4x200 relay and the silver medal-winning 4x400 relay. Moore also ran the second leg of Duncanville's second-place 4x100 relay, boasting a 39.47-second finish at state.

Moore plays the game with a relentless passion, which is evident on every snap. He runs every route extremely hard, whether he is getting the ball or not, and is a willing and able blocker.

He's blisteringly fast in pads, boasting sub-4.4 speed, enabling him to leave defenders in the dust. Known for his precise route running and strong hands,

Moore is a technician who poses a constant threat to score with every touch. His combination of speed, skill, and on-field intensity makes him an easy five-star selection player primed for success at the next level and beyond.

His combination of passion, speed, athleticism and sticky hands put him right up alongside former Texas No. 1 Wrs like Garrett Wilson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Eyes on the Future

Moore plans to graduate early and enroll at Oregon in January, getting a head start on his college career. During his commitment ceremony, he reported that his recruitment is now completely closed, and he is ready to concentrate on his senior year at Duncanville.
