Austin Anderson 2025 QB Max Gerlich (6'3, 195) announced his commitment to play for Jeff Traylor and UTSA over a wide array of scholarship offers, giving the Roadrunners a key piece to the Class of 2025.

"The biggest factors in my decision were my relationships with the staff: Coach (Jeff) Traylor, Coach (Justin) Burke, Coach (Pavit) Patel, and all the way down to the recruiting personnel," Gerlich said.  UTS was my first D1 offer and I felt really comfortable with them."

Now that Gerlich is in the boat, he is hopeful to become a force to help more top recruits join him in San Antonio.

Absolutely," Gelich said when asked if he would be active on the recruiting trail. "That is something the coaches preached. I am an early commit, 1 of 2 at the moment (alongside Dallas First Baptist three-star WR Kaleb Mitchell), and I am going to be hard on the guys we want to bring in."

Gerlich missed a large portion of his junior season due to a patella injury, but he is 100% healthy and ready to go for his senior year at Austin Anderson.

UTSA fans should be fired up about Gerlich's addition because the DCTF three-star has a high ceiling and noticeable arm strength that pops on tape and in person.

"Some of the things that I bring to the table are my athleticism, a quick release and a big arm," Gerlich explained of his strengths at the position. "All of that translates well to their offensive spread and RPO system and all the stuff they do and is a great fit for their scheme."
