Lewisville 2027 CB Taelyn Mayo (6'4, 180) is not your average high school cornerback.

The DCTF Rising Top 25 selection blends rare size and skill, making him one of the most sought-after prospects in his class.

Mayo's transfer to Lewisville from McKinney has been seamless, both on and off the field. "The move to Lewisville is really good. They are family for real. I like a lot of the players and we have just been working together to get ready for the season," Mayo said.

His performance during the spring evaluation period turned heads, and he now boasts 10 scholarship offers from major programs, including Ole Miss, UTSA, UCF, Tulsa, Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon, USC, Arkansas State, and San Diego State.

"A lot of coaches came through," Mayo noted about the recruiting blitz at Lewisville this spring.

Early in the recruiting process, offers from Texas A&M, Texas, and Oregon stand out for Mayo.

"Texas defensive back coach Terry Joseph is very cool. I hope to get down there for a visit," Mayo said. He also mentioned his anticipation for another visit with Texas A&M. "Texas A&M came to the school. I look forward to getting down there to talk to them and meet them again soon."

Mayo's arrival further bolstered a Lewisville secondary boasting D1 talent in 2025 DB Zephen Walker, 2025 DB D'Angelo King, 2025 DB Brian Thomas, 2026 DB Dylan Davis and 2026 DB Kanye Anderson.
