Frisco Panther Creek finished 11–2 in its second season as a varsity program, losing by four points to eventual state champion Anna. Whoever wins the job to replace District MVP QB Braxton Roberts will have a bevy of athletes to distribute the ball to. Glen Rose has a quarterback/wide receiver duo that should get more college looks this season. Plus, Aubrey's Tyler Brown is a name who could take off this season recruiting wise. 

Graham and Lake Dallas qualified for the State 7-on-7 tournament in College Station June 27-29. 

Loaded Skill Class at Frisco Panther Creek

Name: Cristian Trickett | School: Frisco Panther Creek | Class: 2025 | Pos: WR | HT: 6-foot | WT: 170

Trickett first popped up on the recruiting radar at last year's State 7-on-7 tournament when he topped out at 21.26 MPH, the fastest of all athletes. It was only a preview of bigger things to come. Trickett racked up 1,398 yards and led all Dallas-area public school athletes with 24 touchdown receptions. He had the most impressive catch of the day on Saturday - a 50-yard streak as time expired where he extended his arms for an over-the-shoulder catch and toe-tapped in the back of the end zone for a score. Trickett received his first Division I offer from Dartmouth on May 16. Columbia, Lamar, SFA and Tulsa are other schools he's in contact with. 

Name: Jalen Lott | School: Frisco Panther Creek | Class: 2026 | Pos: WR | HT: 6-foot | WT: 170

Lott, a move-in from Lovejoy, will cause problems for opposing defenses opposite of Trickett. He's already established himself at Panther Creek, winning the 4A long jump state title with a 22'9 1/2 mark. Lott has 36 offers and says he hopes to visit Texas, Texas A&M and LSU. He displayed excellent catch-in-traffic ability on Saturday, winning multiple jump balls in the end zone. I also liked his competitiveness - he came up gimpy after one touchdown but refused to leave the game, then scored another touchdown. 

Name: Donovan Webb | School: Frisco Panther Creek | Class: 2026 | Pos: DB | HT: 6-foot | WT: 175

Webb is a two-time First Team All-District defensive back and a day one varsity player for Panther Creek. His freshman year he played corner, but the coaches moved him to free safety as a sophomore so he could roam the field. Webb proved them corrrect, with 109 tackles and four interceptions. He's a ballhawking safety who also spells at wide receiver and punt returner, but I believe he'll play defense in college. Baylor, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt and Pitt have all offered. 

Name: Sentel Simpson | School: Frisco Panther Creek | Class: 2025 | Pos: ATH | HT: 6-foot-4 | WT: 190

Simpson was a First Team All-District running back in 2023 and will also start at safety this upcoming year. He's a long and lean prospect who was a mismatch on linebackers on Saturday. The coaches might use his 6-foot-4 frame in the passing game more this season, but make no mistake - Simpson is a running back first. He can get the tough yards and is dangerous in the open field. Sam Houston and Lamar have recently offered. 

The Glen Rose Connection

Name: Canyon Evans | School: Glen Rose | Class: 2025 | Pos: QB | HT: 6-foot-1 | WT: 185

Evans was the most impressive quarterback I saw on Saturday. He was throwing bombs. Even more impressive to me was how vocal he was with his teammates. He was the unquestioned leader of the team and constantly encouraging guys. Evans was an all-state selection in 2023 after throwing for 4,577 passing yards and 49 touchdowns for a Glen Rose team that made the state semifinals. He holds a couple Division II offers right now but has visited Dartmouth and Texas State. This summer, he'll camp at Rice and Houston. 

Name: Adrian Sanchez | School: Glen Rose | Class: 2025 | Pos: QB | HT: 6-foot | WT: 165

Sanchez nevers comes off the field for Glen Rose, switching from wide receiver to safety. He was an all-state defensive back and had 879 receiving yards with nine touchdowns. Sanchez is also a short stop on the baseball team. He ran great routes on Saturday and made a few catches in traffic. His elevation when the ball was in the air was simply different from most guys I watched. He isn't getting any college looks right now, but I think he's an FCS or Division II prospect hiding in plain sight.

Aubrey's District MVP

Name: Tyler Brown | School: Aubrey | Class: 2025 | Pos: WR | HT: 5-foot-11 | WT: 170

Tyler Brown has a different gear to him, topping out at a 4.38 40-yard dash. That's one of the reasons Aubrey is moving from their traditional tight Wing-T offense to a more spread look. Every offer he has is as an athlete, and he'll play corner or receiver in college, whichever gets him on the field faster. Texas State, UTEP, UTSA and North Texas have all offered, but Baylor and Texas Tech are also showing heavy interest. Brown has a great relationship with Baylor corners coach Kevin Curtis and loves Joey McGuire's program in Lubbock.
